News of a Gala Bingo hall closure from Lancaster. The hall on King Street has been home to Bingo for some 35 years, and sounds like it's another of those classy old cinema style buildings rich in Art Deco and history. It's always sad to see another one go the way of the dodo.
Regulars are upset at the closure which has been cited as being caused by commercial concerns. A sad fact is that a lot of these older city centre clubs will struggle and make way for the purpose built mega clubs. Many of the small intimate clubs in my town, including the one I worked at are gone. It's a real shame to see them go, but, that's progress for you.
