Following a nice double spread last weekend in the South Wales Echo, the Canton Castle Bingo Hall celebrated its 18th birthday this weekend. The event was surrounded by celebrations and special events for the customers.
Now why is this such an auspicious birthday event? Well, the Canton Castle was the first purpose built Bingo hall in the UK, setting the modern trend for large new Bingo builds rather than converting old cinemas and theatres. So, whilst not the oldest Bingo hall in the land, it's certainly the oldest purpose built one.
