A pensioners' Friday Bingo night has been forced to close because of the selfish and shameful activities of loutish youths in the area. This has been compounded by a lack of support from the local police. Unfortunately, we've already seen what happens when Bingo fans try to help sort out loutish behaviour themselves so it seems we can't win.
The night at Poppleton Road Memorial Hall in York has been going on for 50 years, but this week will see the last night. Police have pledged to help the pensioners, but it's too little too late. Read more...
