After many months of putting up with harassment, the pensioners at the Bingo session at Belle Isle's United Reform Church decided to take action against the yobs outside. They went out and took the ball off the gang of 14 to 15 year olds who were kicking it against the church's steel shutter and interrupting the game. They called the police who turned up.
Now, rather than show some understanding of the pensioners' plight, they instead threatened to arrest the pensioners for stealing the kid's ball - unless they gave it back to the kids. Just as well none of them tried the old fashioned clip around the ear'ole as a method of disciplining the unruly yobs who were making their Bingo a misery - they'd all be locked up by now.
