Paddy Power Bingo Review - Mobile Bingo Reviews
Paddy Power Bingo launched their mobile bingo offering for players wishing to enjoy the game on the go in January 2013. Virtue Fusion powers the app, using software from Playtech who have developed an exceptional mobile platform for several big-name bingo sites.
On paper, Paddy Power Bingo Mobile looks sensational, offering several bingo variants, multi-player games and slots, all from your mobile device. The mobile site is compatible with all iOS and Android devices, and they are hoping to launch more versions very soon.
If you’re already a Paddy Power Bingo player, then all you need to do is download the app from the App Store and for Android too. If you don’t have an existing account there are some generous sign up bonuses for new players, so do take advantage of those.
Once you have downloaded the free app, simply sign in and the Bingo Lobby will launch. The games are available for all iOS and Android mobile devices including tablets and iPads, but even from an iPhone screen the graphics are clear and crisp. From the lobby you can launch a selection of Paddy Power Bingo rooms and there is a huge selection. Play 90-ball, 80-ball or 75-ball bingo, speed bingo and special games like Deal or No Deal and Lucky Numbers bingo just as easily from your mobile device as you would from your PC.
Ticket sales and the bingo tickets take up the entire screen with a menu at the bottom to launch chat, side games such as Clover Rollover (there are only two right now but expect more soon), and launch game information. At the top of the screen you will see all your game information, bingo balls, balance, and game prizes, while winners appear as a pop-up in the middle of the screen.
The bingo is excellent and the interface offers more choice than we have ever seen at other mobile bingo sites but we did have a few problems, things we will assume are glitches with the new software. The first is what seems to be an oversight by either Paddy Power Bingo or our bingo reviewer as we cannot find what variant of bingo each room offers until we have bought tickets, so we are playing blind. If you’re a regular at Paddy Power Bingo then you will probably know which room is which, but for new players, this seem a big oversight. Our second hiccup came when we realised that the interface times out, sending your phone into standby mode every few minutes unless you touch the screen. Most mobile bingo sites override the standby and so this doesn’t happen, and it might be something that Paddy Power Bingo wants to work on. Our third observation, and the one that left us the most confused is the request for location settings. You cannot play on the mobile bingo app unless you allow your location settings, it’s the first time we have ever come across this reviewing mobile bingo sites and it feels a little intrusive and unnecessary.
That said, they are tiny glitches, and overall we absolutely loved our experience at Paddy Power Bingo. The choice is tremendous, chat is clear and easy to use and all the same games that you love from your PC, you can now play from your mobile device with Paddy Power Bingo!
