Pitsea Gala Bingo History And Background

Pitsea Gala Bingo, located on the site of the original Granada Bingo Hall has closed its doors for the final time. Situated in what was originally a cinema, the hall is one of five Gala clubs closing nationally due to falling profits and increased taxation.

Despite the familiarity of this sad story, for a change there is good news. Regulars will have the opportunity to daub their cards in the nearby Bowers Social Club. The social club will be running twice weekly bingo sessions, and all profits will be returned to the 'bingo pot'. Let's hope the transferral of bingo to not for profit clubs is is a trend that will grow.
