Sun Valley Bingo And Social Club History And Background

Another Bingo Hall has been closed to make way for a retail outlet. The Sun Valley Social Club was not just a Bingo Hall, but a vital facility for local residents who also engaged in a mid afternoon dance and snooker when they weren't daubing their bingo cards.

Despite a 500 signature petition against the closure, the premises are going to be completely rebuilt. Anger from local residents is evident, although owners of Sun Valley have cited falling profits due to gaming taxation and the smoking ban as the reason for the sale of the premises. A sad but familiar story.
