Gala Bingo History And Background

We do not know too much about the closure of Montrose Gala Bingo, but we do know that the club was once a cinema. Despite our lack of knowledge, and the fact that the club is definitely closed, the good news is that the building is at the time of writing still standing. It is at the centre of a campaign by local film buffs to reopen part of the premises as a cinema, which in the long term could be potentially good news for the possibility of future bingo usage as well. The hall retains it's original features which is another bonus when trying to ensure that the building is protected. The premises are in part being turned into a pub, although it remains to be seen how this will effect the interior of the building.
