Dreamland Bingo History And Background

Dreamland Bingo closed in 2007 despite a public move to keep it open. It was part of the Dreamland Beach Complex, which held host to a variety of traditional seaside entertainment. A victim of unprofitability the bingo sessions were held in one part of the cinema.

The building as a whole could accommodate over 2000 people, and it's original frontage broke ground in cinema design when it opened in 1935. The bingo hall took over the original stalls of one of the two cinemas on the premises. Both the remaining cinema, and the bingo hall closed within months of each other despite what must have been one of the first Face book driven petitions to keep a bingo hall open.
