Buckingham Bingo History And Background

Along with many of the other big bingo firms, Buckingham Bingo has taken to closing any 'unprofitable clubs' in a restructuring exercise to combat falling revenues across the board. The latest victim is the Bingo Hall in the Parrs Wood centre in the Didsbury area of Manchester.

It's owners cite the usual suspects as the cause of the clubs lack of financial viability; falling attendance due to the smoking ban, increased taxation, and the generally poor economy.

The move has lead to the loss of jobs for 23 staff, and a further 3 have taken up job offers at nearby Buckingham Bingo Halls. As the biggest chain in the north this is quite a blow, although the actual knock on effect in the local community cannot be measured so easily.

Luckily for those who do have access to public transport or their own transport, Manchester still has plenty to offer bingo players.
