The closure of Bingo halls has been happening for many years for a number of reasons, but the recent rush of closures as a result of the various UK smoking bans and taxation issues is both alarming and sad. A good Bingo hall has a culture and atmosphere all of its own that once gone, can never be recaptured. It's not just the culture that's in danger of being lost in time, it's the very fabric of the buildings, the interiors, decor and fittings.
With that in mind, I decided to set up this section as a place to keep information on those halls closed, whether recently or in the past. Each featured closed club will be a place to collect available information on the club, photographs, members and staff comments and memories.
This is not something I can do alone, it requires the input of Bingo fans everywhere. If you've have information, photographs, comments on a club that has closed in the past, or if your club is soon to close, then let me know and I'll add it to this section. If there's not a page for your lost club yet, let me know and I'll get a page together for it.
