Closed: 2003
County Bingo, located in the Gorbals area of Glasgow closed in 2003. Like many bingo halls, it's premises stood out due to its unique architecture. Originally named 'Coliseum', it was designed by Frank Matcham, and opened as a theatre in 1905.
Its history then followed a route that is familiar to bingo historians and officianados. Due to the demise of the theatre industry it began showing films in 1925. When the cinema industry declined in the late 1970s, like many other venues in a similar position, it was snapped up and converted into a bingo hall. Since closing in 2003, the building has been dissused, and was claimed by a fire on the 25th of may, 2009.
