Clifton Bingo History And Background

Clifton Bingo Cleethorpes was one of the bingo halls that was purpose built, so it's demolition, whilst sad is not as lamentable as when a 150 year old venue is raised to the ground. Having said that, any bingo hall that dissappears is a sad loss to the community, particularly it's elderly residents. It's owner did call the closure 'an end of an era', and the Newton family who owned the club have also had to close the Queens' Bingo hall. The Clifton, like many closed clubs has gone the way of property development, never to return as a bingo hall again. A sad loss.
