Gala Bingo History And Background

We are not sure exactly what happened to Gala Bingo on King's Heath, so we would be extremely grateful if you could enlighten us. If you let us know about the events we will credit you with the information of course, so, if you do know what happened, please contact us.

We do know that the Bingo Hall resided in what used to be the Kingsway Cinema. The cinema opened in 1925, and closed in 1980, with "The Bermuda Triangle" being the last film shown.

Update 17th September 2011

Any potential return to bingo in the club has been dealt a further blow, with the outbreak of a fire on 17th September, the cause of which is being treated as suspicious. The fire was so big that many nearby residents and businesses had to be evacuated until the fire was brought under control.
