Club Background And History
Wokingham Gala Bingo offers bingo players the opportunity to play bingo everyday, and it regularly runs promotions to give you better value for your money, including free bingo - give them a ring to see when you can grab a chance to play for free.
Wokingham Gala is situated in what was once the Ritz Cinema. If you look at the picture of the building's exterior below it looks like a fully modern building, however this is due the addition of a extension. The original cinema was opened in 1937, and with 716 seats was quite a small venue. The original exterior had a 'fin', a common cinema embellishment, although that has now gone. ABC cinemas took over in 1937, and Star Cinemas in 1939. In 1977 it was taken over by an independent who split the building for bingo and cinema (cine-bingo). However, from 1979 onwards it became a full time bingo venue, and is currently operated by Gala.
The club is located in the centre of Wokingham, it has a bar, diner, and slot machines if you fancy a little spin while you're waiting for the game to start. Homely And Friendly
I only get to go when my sister is visiting. No matter when we have been to the club - whether there are hundreds or just a few members the staff are very friendly and helpful. The club has a homely feeling and is always clean. Our thanks go to all the staff for a very enjoyable evening and for always making us feel welcome.
