Club Background And History
Wishaw Mecca Bingo is located in the premises of an old cinema and offers bingo players the opportunity to play bingo everyday, afternoon and evening, and it regularly runs promotions to give you better value for your money.
Wishaw Mecca is situated in one of the country's largest old cinemas. Green’s Playhouse, which opened in 1940, had almost 3,000 seats, and it was lucky to have opened when it did, as the war put a hold on the building of any 'non urgent' buildings. While the exterior was quite bland, the interior had domes and columns, as well as fluorescent carpet. It also had a cafe which could be used as a ballroom. Mecca Bingo took over in the seventies, and have been operating in the building ever since. We don't know whether the fine interior features remain (we are guessing that the carpet has gone), so if you visit the club, we'd love to hear from you about the condition of the buildings interior.
The club has 600 cashline positions, and 100 EBingo terminals. There is one bar, and a cafe, table service and 10 car parking spaces. For disabled patrons there are 8 disabled seats, 1 disabled toilet, and disabled access. Please contact us if you can give us more information on this club's background or history.
