Club Background And History

Kings Bingo is located just off the seafront in Sheerness. The venue was opened in 1936 as the Argosy Cinema, it had 1,250 seat, and also staged variety acts. It had a 14 foot stage and two dressing rooms, as well as a cafe. Taken over by Essoldo in the forties, it closed in 1968, and although previously under ownership of Gala and Coral, it has been an independent bingo hall since the nineties.

King's Bingo History

Re; Kings, Sheerness. It was not always an independent. It was a Coral then a Gala club.Sometime in the early nineties it became an independent, passing through several operators, including a former Gala director who also had The Oxford in Whitstable. He sold it on shortly after selling The Oxford to Weatherspoons, and, as far as I know, it is still open.
