Club Background And History
Scarborough Mecca Bingo is located in the premises of an old cinema and offers bingo players the opportunity to play bingo everyday, afternoon and evening, and it regularly runs promotions to give you better value for your money.
As you can see from the picture below, Scarborough Mecca is not a purpose built bingo hall it was initially the Capitol Theatre. Opened in 1929, it had a very impressive 2,100 seats, and was fully equipped for stage shows, with dressing rooms, and an orchestra pit. The exterior is quite ornate, and much of the original brickwork and glasswork remains. The interior is equally plush, with plenty of neoclassical influences in the design, as opposed to Art Deco, which was the common choice for interior cinema decor at the time. It also doubled up as a cinema, and it was the cinema side of the business that continued until the seventies, latterly under the ownership of Classic Cinemas. Classic introduced bingo, but were taken over as owners by Mecca Bingo in 1977.
There's seating for 1200, and 60 EBingo terminals. There is one bar, and a cafe. For disabled patrons there are 7 disabled seats, 1 disabled toilet, and disabled access. Please contact us if you can give us more information on this club's background or history.

Staff Not Setting A Good Example
I visited your club on Wednesday night on the 9th June 2010. I was a bit disgusted with a member of staff as I played the last late session. A member of staff was on his mobile phone texting while he was on the main stage, which quite a few people commented on. I didn't think was very professional as we are told to turn our phones off.
