Club Background And History
Winners Bingo is located in the middle of Bury St. Edmunds, and shares the premises with a cinema. The venue opened as the Central cinema in 1924, a medium capacity venue, which was initially independently operated, and has gone through many changes of ownership and name over the years. Although fire damaged in 1930, the building was quickly restored. The stalls area was converted for bingo in the early seventies, although we are not sure of the chain of ownership of the actual bingo club other than the present owners Winners. (Although we are guessing that at some point it may have been 'Star Bingo').
