Default Most Embarrassing Moment On The Caller's Seat

If you've called Bingo, what's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you whilst in the hot seat, in front of the eyes of the members?

Personally, my mate was playing one night, right in my eye line and he kept making funny and slightly obscene gestures. It cracked me up and I had one of them awful trying to keep it level whilst stifling the laughter moments. It went on for ages, in the end I couldn't look at him. The other players were getting well cheesed off as well.

Oh yeah, trying not to laugh is a bad one. I've had several occasions where you can just tell the punters are getting pissed off, but what can you do ?

Once when I was on mainstage, a member of the floor staff decided it would be funny to pretend to break wind down a radio mic. He thought it was switched off, but it wasn't, and in the middle of the game we were interupted by a very loud fart through the sound system!

The hall fell silent, and I couldn't help but turn round and say indignantly 'I'd just like to let you know that that wasn't me, ladies and gents!'

Cue everyone bursting out laughing. I could have strangled that bloke afterwards though...

Hahaha! I'm thankful I'm not a bingo caller! I definitely couldn't keep a straight face if anything happened to me! I'm terrible with such things.

I was at Bingo once when the caller fell off her podium! Thankfully she wasn't injured physically but her pride took a bit of a battering.

Those are some funny ones. I can remember the bingo caller getting the hiccups and they seemed to last forever. We were all laughing. You couldn't help but laugh.

Once you've started laughing all is lost. I was playing my clarinet in public once when I caught someone's eye and started giggling. It's impossible to blow & giggle together, you make the weirdest noises

I've heard it said that the bingo caller must be prepared for any eventuality. Now I am beginning to understand why!
