Yeah, i've been following this for a few days - this is going to hurt a lot of people's livelihoods. I was going to start up some threads on this myself. There's a lot going on over at the
Bingo Players Union - infact, there's a
protest planned for Washington.
Quite frankly - the law's a wasted opportunity for the US government, they could have legalised a business that acceptable pretty much anywhere else in the world - and helped the defecit by taxing it.
It's not that online gambling has been banned, it's that anyone taking payment for online gambling in the US can no longer do so, effectively killing online gambling. Strangely, horseracing is exempt from this ban, which frankly seems to send a mixed message.
