Default One of Those Days

Have you ever just had one of those days that you had to leave for awhile and right now? Today I was so stressed that I just took my car and book and told the hubby and kids I was leaving for a few. I was gone for four hours and even finished my book. It helped a lot.

Oh yes, I recognise that feeling. My 13 year old son had Autistic Spectrum Disorder and is exhausting even on a good day. I find being a mum to teenagers makes my hands itch from time to time. You know the way they treat you as if you are a complete idiot and they feel the need to share their vast experience of life with you! Then there is my husband ..........!! I think writing my blog helps to keep me sane, somehow nothing is quite as bad when you have written it all down.

Oh God do I remember my palms itching! Fortunately, my son didn't go through a protracted attitude interlude, and his naturally sunny disposition won out after awhile (although it did seems like centuries to me!)
My daughter, however, went through years of attitude. It was kind of depressing. However, she has two kids now under the age of five, and I have become "mommy " again.

Molly, I expect you will have a little smile when your daughter's children reach the attitude stage!

Yes, Just, just the slightest of smiles. When my grandchildren act up, even now my daughter will say to me, even though I have the most benign expression on my face, "You're laughing aren't you?" I say, "Sweetheart, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you."
For an absolutely hilarious stand-up about the trials of bringing up kids, try and find a copy of "Bill Cosby: Himself". When my hubby and I saw that, years ago, we litterally fell off the sofa laughing. I mean we really fell off!! It will make your day.

I am seeming to have one of those days that are turning into weeks, my fiance is off from work for the whole week (something we didn't know about nor planned for) because work is slow. All kids are driving me nuts, I got burned bad on my stomach on Sat., I need to work more hours at work to make up for fiance's slack week. Ugh, just doesn't ever seem to stop.

I'm sorry, the bad stuff does have a way of ganging up on us sometimes. Perhaps you could get your fiancé to do some useful jobs while he has some free time. It seems only fair if you have to do extra work.

I'm bummed because my hubby has to do several more hours of work this week to replace a volunteer who apparently decided to "un-volunteer" herself. He's having a grand time with the kids, though, and that's cool, but I'm missing him. It never seems to work out the way you want.
