Default Scared Cat

There are several Dr Who fans in our family, so when I was given a larger than life size cut out of one of the Dr Who characters I knew that they would like to have it. I struggled to get it into the car and I struggled even more to get it out again, so by the time I got it into the house I just stood it against the wall in the kitchen before taking it upstairs. I went off to do another job and when I walked back into the kitchen I almost jumped out of my skin because I had forgotten that there was a huge 'person' leaning against the wall! While I was making myself a cup of tea Oreo the cat walked into the kitchen, he caught sight of the figure, leapt into the air, turned and fled. He crept back almost in slow motion and investigated the figure, fled again, then returned to peer around the door at the intruder. It was so funny, I wish I'd had it on film!

Our son had gotten his dad one of those big four-foot high blow-up dinosaurs, and he became part of the living room decor. We took in a cat from our neighbor who had to move to a place that prohibited cats. The cat was used to us but had never seen the inside of our house. When the time came to let her in she took one look at the dinosaur and stayed as far away from it as she could. Within the first week, one morning we came into the living room and our dinosaur was a plastic puddle shape on the floor! The cat held a daring night-time raid and had vanquished her foe, the plastic dinosaur! We weren't happy to say goodbye to our dinosaur, but then we thought it was funny at the same time.

That is so funny. We have a huge card board cut out of Darth Vader in my sons room. I don't know how he deals with that in there because it creeps me out every time I see it.

My son has put the figure on the wall opposite the bathroom door. It is most disconcerting to walk along to the bathroom in the middle of the night to find a huge figure pointing a sonic screwdriver at you!

Yes, that would be creepy. The bathroom of all places. I think that I would have to be moving it. I guess if it scared the crap out of you, you would be at the right place.

"
Oh no, Lord Vader, not your sonic screwdriver!"
I couldn't resist.
My daughter used to have a poster of River Phoenix taped up on her door and it was at just the right height that late at night on the way to the loo...!
(This was before he died, by the way. It could've been worse!)

It is interesting who young people choose to admire. When my son was about 9 he was absolutely obsessed by Honor Blackman. She was in a James Bond film and is a very accomplished actress, but I wouldn't have expected a young boy to be so taken with a mature actress. He even asked to be taken to see her at a collectormainia event. She was so nice to him, she took time to stop and talk to him and to be photographed with him.

My sister and I received matching stuffed cats for Christmas one year and during Christmas lunch mum & dad's cats completely destroyed them! I guess they thought they were competition!

Just, that is so interesting; my son did the same as yours. He fell in love with Fay Wray, the actress from the original King Kong. We had a board game in which there was a card representing her, and he used to get the card out and stare at it.
He also loved the actress who played Wonder Woman, Linda Carter. We bought him a poster of her for his birthday, and he'd spend hours leaning next to the poster and sometimes having a Wonder Woman kind of chat. (We made sure that he knew that she was an actor, and that WW was a made-up show.) The dissimilarities between his two Ladies was a little baffling, but then he's a Gemini....

My sons have fallen for Miley Cyrus but other then that they have not yet shown much interest in the females.
