Default Camping and Bingo

I can remember when I was younger we used to go camping every weekend. They played bingo ever Saturday. I can remember riding on my bike by the game and yelling bingo. Man did they get mad. I was young then and didn't realize how this is really not funny to the people playing

I went to a couple of campsites a few years ago on one of those Sun offers and every one of them offered Bingo. This was before the smoking ban though and they were absolutely horrible places. I loved the game, but hated the environment.

I've never been camping where they offered bingo; I think that's a great idea. The Catholic church had a weekend summer fete every year and I hung out at the bingo when I wasn't playing the dime toss.

I don't think it would be my sort of thing, I wasn't designed for camping! The bingo places that you find at seaside resorts seem to be brash, very noisy and generally off putting.

I don't really know if you would call what my parents were doing as camping per se. They had one of those big campers with all the modern conveinces that they kept their all year round. The bingo was actually somewhat small. It was just for the campers that were camping.

Default camping and bingo

I don't think I'm designed for camping, either. When it gets dark I want to kick back and relax, not shiver on a picnic bench. I don't like to use public bathrooms, public showers, or have to listen to some tone deaf yahoo strangle a poor guitar.
We live just miles away from several campgrounds, and when I open up my bedroom curtains and smell brekkie cooking I always think,"Had a good night, then?" Shame on me.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The couple I looked in on looked terrible. After that I never bothered going down to the entertainment complex when i took advantage of one of the campshite offers.

I like bingo, but it has a time and a place within my life. I think I appreciate it more because I don't play all the time. It is like a little luxury to look forward to. I have lots of other interests and responsibilities too. When I go on holiday I enjoy being with my husband and family, it is a luxury to have freedom to do ordinary things together without worrying about work or school. I wouldn't want to waste that precious time playing bingo.

A big camper van sounds fun, but we like to spend our holidays in Cornwall and Cornish lanes are unbelievably narrow so I wouldn't enjoy driving a big camper van around. We usually hire a static caravan and I cope OK driving my car around the lanes as long as I don't meet a bus coming in the other direction!
