I agree JOT. Parking is a real issue for Bingo halls. The majority of users of my local Bingo Hall are female, and there isn't a car park so users need to use the local multi storey, which is GRIM and not the first place I'd choose to be visiting after dark.

Could you have a word with the hall management Justontime? They may be aware of someone who would love a lift or to car share, particularly an elderly person who's Bingo is limited through lack of transport. They might even let you put up a postcard to see if anyone want to get in touch.

I did try to set up a car share but nobody was interested. The multi storey car park near my usual bingo hall only has two levels open in the evening, but I still don't like it; there is no safe street parking nearby. Most people either get dropped off and picked up at the door or they travel by taxi. I am the only driver in my family and I can't afford taxis so I have to brave the car park or stay away.

That's not good at all Justontime. It sounds silly, but do you think the hall management realise how offputting this is?

The problem sounds like there is just no way for the bingo hall to provide other parking. Now if it could be done affordable then it would be nice to provide them a ride from the garage to the front door to get dropped off.

If the bingo hall is a mjor user of the multi storey, then they should be able to put pressure on the owners (the council?) to imrove lighting / facilities to make it a more appealing place to use.

At the very least the Bingo hall could provide an escort to the car park. I imagine that many people leave around the same time, so it wouldn't be too difficult to arrange.

My friend lives quite close to a bingo hall in California. A lot of the casinos there will send out a little van to pick people up who have requested it; they'll even stop for you if you wave at them. They do this for the older folk who don't drive, and people who intend to get sloshed, then they won't drink drive.

That sounds like an excellent idea for keeping drunk drivers off the streets Molly, but we seem to have drifted off the original topic rather!

We have drifted a bit, but there were some good ideas there. To get back to the question, bingo is legal, it doesn't impact adversely on anyone else and I enjoy it so why on earth should advertisers want to suggest that it is a guilty pleasure?
