Default The Grand National is this Saturday!

It’s that time of year again when we send a member of our family down to the local bookmaker to place a bet for everyone on the Grand National. I must admit, I haven’t had much luck with the race in the past and I normally just go with what my newspaper says might win.

I would like my pick to be a bit more personal and something I have selected myself but the problem is I really don’t have a clue.

I have been shown a site that lets me pick a horse based on what star sign it is or where abouts in the country it is from. This is the sort of thing I have been looking for!

The site is Lucky Dip and has picked Cloudy Lane and Idle Talk for the horses from the North West. I might even have a lucky dip bet as well to make sure I get the winner this year!

My question to all of you is:

How do you pick your Grand National bet?

And

What are you backing tomorrow?

Thanks much for the great site! That is just the way I like to bet on, star signs and the like. We will be checking that site when the husband gets home. So I guess I answered your first question: using the site. Your second question I can't answer yet, I need a Gemini horse since we're both Geminis; hope there's one!

I normally pick my favourite just because I like the name! I rarely actually put a bet on though. I haven't looked at this year's runners yet though, I hadn't realised it was tomorrow (today now it's after midnight!).

I have never been good at picking winners. I will have to check this site out. Thanks for sharing it. Good luck to everyone.

Default geminis down to defeat

Well, my husband and I, both being Geminis, checked out all the gemini horses, and there was quite a stable (haha)of them.
Bewley's Berry, Mr Pointment, Philson Run, Idle Talk, Backbeat, and Bob Hall all went down to defeat; we congratulate Comply or Die!

It's just as well that I didn't put a bet on, as my choice was a catastrophic failure (again). Anyone win?

It's as much fun to me to not bet and just fantasize about what I would do with all the money if I did win (and at 100 to1 it's all about the fantasy!) Same with lotteries and all. Bingo's about the only thing I put money down for.

Can you imagine how you'd feel if you did all that imagining then discovered that your horse actually won Molly? But you hadn't put the bet on ....

Yeah, you're right! The Gemini horses were all longshots, one was 100 to 1. Had that one won, I would be bald today because I would have torn all my hair out!!!

Are we allowed to bet from the United States? There are so many rules on gambling here....
