Thumbs up Your Ideas To Help The Bingo Clubs Attract A New Audience?

Well, crunch time is here for industry. The smoking ban is in full effect, and double taxation seems likely to stay for the foreseeable future. The industry needs to act fast to ensure it's survival - and to reach new audiences if it's to continue.

There seem to be some innovations going on - electronic halls being a prime example - and special promotions like Gala's Kerchingo are another. But change in the industry seems slow and there's a lack of willingness to go after these new audiences.

Celebrity tie-ins are lazy at best, and in some cases can go as far as to alienate certain players, and at others can act to reinforce the age old Bingo stereotypes.

So, let's get our heads together and help the industry out. We want our halls to be there in the future, so it's time to act now. If you have an idea about how Bingo clubs can both attract new members, improve their offerings or innovate - post them in this thread.

Don't worry about things like viability or likelihood of them happening. Let your imaginations run wild - if it's not possible, it could easily spark an idea from someone else as to something that is possible and of benefit, but if you don't mention it, then it won't inspire them.

So there you go. Your best ideas about what the industry can do - post them below! No commenting on the ideas please, you can do that in another thread. This one's simply for your ideas.

Here's one to get you going. Once a month hold a night especially for beginners. Have extra staff on hand to help out and get current members to get their non-Bingo playing friends to come along. Also advertise in the press and around local workplaces as this being a great night to organise a work-outing or something similar. Get the caller teaching players how to play as well as the staff.

Probably would get alot of laughs but how about a bingo night at a bar? Also offering some better door prizes might bring in the younger crowd to the local bingo hall.

I think combining bingo with a nightclub or sorts! You can go drink, dance and then pop over for a game of bingo. Not very viable but fun!

No it's not viable but it would make for a fun evening. Hey maybe you could play for free drinks but then again that might get the bar in trouble.

What about bring a friend and get a two free games free?
Door prizes may help out as well. What about a charity bingo event?

They should combine karaoke and bingo in one night. That would attract younger audiences and keep people entertained.

Offering prizes and bingo promotions would help instead of purely just cash! I play online and one website lets you win a Nintendo Wii for christmas and your Online Bingo Cash just by playing their games! I dont see why bingo halls dont do this too!

I'd rather play for cash than prizes though, winning money is always exciting.

How about child care on site? You could show kiddies good movies on a nice big screen, and they wouldn't want to leave before the movie was over. More time playing bingo for mum and dad.
