It has to be Christmas - we don't get Thanksgiving this side

I actually prefer Thanksgiving because it's a non-religious holiday. Christmas is such a family oriented time, and Thanksgiving is when you can invite friends, strays, and the like. I have loads more fun at Thanksgiving!

What is the idea behind thanksgiving exactly? xmas is very much a friends and family thing, and I think that for lots of people christmas has nothing to do with religion anymore

I love Christmas the best. I just love everything about the holiday season from the real meaning to the decorations and just everything about it.

The idea behind Thanksgiving in the U.S. is that it's mainly a harvest celebration. The Pilgrims had such tough winters to survive that they celebrated a good harvest and gave thanks prior to the winter really starting.

I prefer Christmas for religious reasons as well as customs. I just love everything about it. Decorations, church plays, and shopping!!!
