Default Favorite Food On Thanksgiving?

Well this holiday is getting closer and I cannot wait. I love Thanksgiving dinner. What are some of your favorite dishes that you have on Thanksgiving? I love the sweet potatoes and the stuffing. I cannot wait.

Being a Brit I'll have to scratch my head and say 'Huh, Thanksgiving? Wassat?!'

But Turkey sounds good.

Thanks for the reply. Never even thought about the ones that don't celebrate Thanksgiving? But I guess you don't have to be from the States to enjoy Turkey. Thank again. You have a great day.

When I was in Scotland, the ex-pats used to do Thanksgiving, and often we'd invite our Scot friends. We all made parts of the meal so we'd assign them dishes to make to. I remember one very good Scottish cook being assigned a pumpkin pie. Well, pumpkins aren't exactly shelf items there ...and you rarely find canned pumpkin. She subsituted squash thinking it would be the same. It was horrible, but we all had a laugh.

Sorry so late on replying. Thanksgiving is on this coming Thursday. I cannot wait because I love eating all the food. The leftovers are the best.

Here in the States, the turkey is the traditional dish ...like roast beef and Yorkshire pud is over there at Christmas time. It's also popular at Christmas but we still do the odd goose or roast beef for that one.
