    Default History Of Bingo

Bingo transcends from lotto and Keno is a close associate. Cheung Leung introduced Keno over 2000 years ago in China. The game was successful and the city was saved. Characters were used in the ticket unlike the numbers we use today. In America bingo was originally named Beano and was a Country fair game where the dealer would choose discs that were numbered from a cigar box and then players marked their cards with beans. Beano was yelled if they won.

    Beano!!! I won!
Hey the China story says that the city was saved. Could you explain how Bingo saved the city? Cause that would be a great achievement made by Bingo. Maybe I misunderstood but I would like to be clarified about this.

Everything has a history to it and I think this one is interesting. However I'm with elbuo, is that what you meant about Bingo saving the city?

From now on I think I'll yell "Beano" when I win! lol Talk about stumping people, but at least I'll have a good explanation right?

    Thanks for the info.

Quite an interesting history of bingo, there are a few decent articles on the web about it.

For a definitive history of Bingo, you might want to check out our excellent article written by the historian Dr. Carolyn Downs. You can see it here.
