I like that idea, hunkston! Bingo is prominently viewed as an "old people's" game, and your idea would be a great way for it to make a comeback!
I really like the speed dating idea - although i'm married so couldn't join in - but I do think it could catch on!
Another idea: how about putting a nice chocolate at each seat? On the second thought, there would probably be a lot of chocky-poaching going on...
Try to attract the mummy crowd who are available during the daytime by offering a safe environment for them to bring the kids, decent tea & coffee, healthy kid friendly snacks & tasty cakes.

Having seen the responses about the food available in the majority of bingo halls, it seems to me that there's a market for providing some decent catering. Something other than hot dogs & nachos would seem to be a good start ....
We were having a staff lunch today at the local pub when the conversation turned to bingo (as it does when you work for a bingo website LOL).
AdamK suggested that land bingo halls should aim for a younger audience by having musical calls, with a different song for each number, such as Hawaii 5-0 for 50, etc.
I wasn't too sure on that idea!
I suggested having gunge tanks above each player's head, and whoever wins gets to gunge someone! Ha ha!
Now that I would pay to see. And you wonder why Noel's House Party got cancelled...
