Is there really a way to cheat at Bingo? No, I am not looking to cheat just that I cannot see how you could really cheat? Has anyone ever run into someone trying to cheat?

Ive seen the regulars win with greater consistency when a family or friend is calling the game coincidence I think not.
If they have access to card they can call accordinly I believe.
I never thought of a family member calling while other family members are playing. But I am still not to sure how you would get the right ball to come out? I will have to think on this one.
thats what i was thinking as they all just come out randomly, unless if you altered the size of the balls or put certain markings on them so that when youpick you can choose which one you want without having to look for ages
In one of the UK clubs that use electronic number generation machines, that's impossible. I think you notice it more because of the family link. I don't think you pay as much attention if it was any other winner.
I used to call when my nan, aunty, mum and dad were in the hall playing. If it was possible to fix the games for them, I still wouldn't have dared, as I wouldn't have liked 500 enraged members chasing me home!![]()
hello,
The chat about cheating at real bingo halls is leaving out some very important info as far as ball selection and machinery used . Have you noticed that when numbers start popping up, it seems they appear often during the course of the games?
The bingo balls are very light and are ejected by air. When the natural oils that are on human skin touch the balls it ever so slightly changes the "friction capacity" of the balls. In many major bingo halls, callers must wear gloves or have a machine predisposed so as to not cause contact with the hands. The bingo and lottery commissions of individual states have applied rules, but most require the cleansing or replacement of bingo balls at regular stated intervals. This is not for hygiene..it is to prevent the build up of friction substances on each ball that may create a variant within the operation of the bingo machine.
Every bingo card or paper is recognized automatically as the winner when a bingo is called, so that means they all have to be programmed into a computer. Here is another opportunity for a clever whiz to figure out how to manipulate. It all hinges on the respectability of the owners and their compliance with gambling commission rules that really dictates the "fairness" of every game called. The same is true of online gambling, but for the fact NO ONE really monitors with any credibility any of the the operations or rules that are imposed by offshore owners. For the UK, that will change on Sept.1st, when the UK gambling commission will take jurisdiction of online gaming and preside with a promised iron fist on all online operators and players to assure a fair and equitable arena.
wtg UK!
Now why couldn't the US have done something like that instead of outlawing it all together? Thanks for your post. I know that the place I play at most change the balls quite frequently. Maybe that is why?
Very informative post!! I didn't know about the balls and such. I know US can be such a pain at times.
That may be the case in the US with the blowers, but they've not been used in the UK for decades - it's all done through electronic random number generators. Whilst all the tickets are in the computer, as a book seller, even if you knew a card would win thanks to trickery, it would be nigh on impossible to save the winning card and apportion it to a house player. The RNGs and ticket sales are not linked in any way so cheating is nigh on impossible in a UK Bingo hall.
UK online sites also have to be licensed within the EU as well to be able to advertise in this country. I always recommend online bingo players check the area of license when they choose on a site.
I am not to sure what you mean by electronic generators? I know here in the US we have computers that you play on but I don't think you are meaning that?
