Lots of banned users?

I was skimming through the forums and as I was reading along, I saw a number of users banned from the forum. Why is that so? What are the criteria for someone to get banned here?

Unfortunately, Playing Bingo is the target for spammers and link builders, many of who ignore the posting guidelines and seek to either link build or self-promote on the site. Often they do it by posing as regualr posters, until they get to the stage when they can post links (after 15 posts). I have zero tolerance for this sort of behaviour, and any spammy accounts and posts are dealt with swiftly.

Wow. That's tough. Too bad there are a lot of them. You must probably have done a really good job here as an Administrator Dio. Monitoring the forums and all that isn't that easy I believe.

Time consuming rather than tough, and ultimately fruitless for the spammers. Doesn't stop them trying though.

LOL. seems like they are persistent, huh? Does that mean links are not allowed here?

Links to information and other websites are fine, if they are relevant. Links for affiliates or commercial bingo sites (when they post 'em themselves) aren't, unless there's been some discussion with me prior to that.
