I've just put up Brett's latest column - he's talking about Bingo Superstitions in his club and some of the one's he himself has had. What are your Bingo superstitions - care to share them?
One that always made me smile was the amount of 4 leafed clovers I'd always see. You can even buy them on eBay these days!
What is weird is I never find any four leaf clovers but my five year old just did the other day. That will now be going with me for luck. I have two toys that I take with me that my son's gave me for luck. I feel unlucky if I don't have them with me.
It's funny how once you've created your own superstition it's so difficult to break it. I mean you could quite easily, but you don't want to ... just in case!
One of my bingo playing buddies always had to have this ratty old cardigan on when she played. Yeach, it was ancient & made her look like a bag lady but she wouldn't do without. It wasn't that she was even lucky in it, but she thought that if she didn't she'd do even worse LoL
I think it is kind of funny the things you see people pull out of their bags and set up all around them. I had a friend that had a favorite few rocks that she would always put in the free spot on her cards.
When I go I always wear mismatched socks as my talisman. I can't ever leave them behind by mistake and nobody else has the slightest inkling what my good luck charms are!
I don't have in superstition myself, but one of my friends mothers plays all the time (more then I do) and she always has to wear this old worn out red flannel shirt when she plays. It must do her well because as long as I have known her she has never walked away without winning something when she goes to play.
When I go I always wear mismatched socks as my talisman. I can't ever leave them behind by mistake and nobody else has the slightest inkling what my good luck charms are!
That is pretty good, Molly - because you would be surprised what people come to the bingo hall wearing, all in the name of good luck charms!
What will she do Justontime, when her pen runs dry or if someone else sits in her seat?
The trouble with inventing routines for yourself is that you lose confidence / concentration if they are rocked in any way. So of course, if you're not 100% 'there', you're unlikely to win!
