Default Earliest Memories Of Bingo...

What are your earliest memories of Bingo? Share them in this thread - I'll start you off with a few of mine.

It's funny how Bingo's always been there, the whole family play it. I have one memory of being in a pram at a smoky bingo hall, I'm not sure if it's real or not, if it is, it means my mum took me in the pram to bingo which is a bit scary...

Then there was the pens - we always used to be given big bingo markers to draw with as kids, and they were always just about on the verge of running out.

How about you? Any nice early memories you want to join us in a reminiscence about?

My earliest memories of bingo would be playing with my family at home. We had one of those bingo sets with the cards, chips and the cage where you rolled the balls around until one came out. I loved playing bingo like that with my family.

MIne were at the local VFW hall where my grandmother took me when I was very small. I wasn't allowed to play, but the children still went anyway. Big country social night lol.

I remember staggering past a bingo hall after a few beers in the middle of summer, and all the fire exits were open, so I stuck my head and yelled 'House'. Little did I know 6 years later I would be employed at the bloody place.

That's funny, Jag ...it would seem that some things are just meant to be! How long after that did you get interested in bingo?

That's funny because I used to do something like that but it was at a campground we went to every weekend. I would ride by on my bike and yell "Bingo". Man the reactions you get from the players are quite funny.

I remember Saturday afternoons being quality time with the male side of the family. Mam and the and here sisters would all disappear leaving my da and that to try to entertain us whilst they were also trying to watch the footie. Needless to say, the ladie were all at Bingo. I've never liked footie since.

Oh yes, I got into trouble for doing it. I think it had more to do with the fact that my parents were playing and they all knew I was their daughter.

My gran used to take me to bingo quite often when I was small. To keep me happy and quiet, she'd dole out sweets to me one at a time. I was well pleased and sat for hours, especially when she brought chocolate drops!
