I thought it would be fun to put together a few guides for the Playing Bingo members - to show how easily you could make a couple of pounds as a webmaster Bingo affiliate. Best of all, it'll cost you nothing but time. You don't even need experience of making websites.
If you can post here, you can pretty much do this, seriously. About the only skill you need is to write a diary. If you're up for it, here we go - and of course, if you do try it and want help, that's what the forum's here for.
Basic Instructions - I'll go into other issues again.
1: Get yourself a blog. You can go to
www.blogger.com and sign up for one straight away. It's free and easy. Think of a catchy name - the blog you'll be keeping will have a Bingo theme so it'll help if you can get the word Bingo in the title!
2: Select your template, fill in the details, set up your blogger account and you're away. You now have a website. Next thing you need to do is start writing.
3: As you're looking to affiliate and earn money from Bingo, it's good to keep the theme mainly Bingo orientated. You could maybe write a couple of paragraphs every couple of days. Your thoughts on the game, an experience you had that night at the Bingo hall, etc.
Really, it's your blog, and you set the tone and theme - it doesn't have to be just Bingo - you're welcome to post about personal things as well.
4: After a few weeks you will have some entries in your blog and a bit of content. You're now ready to start affiliating. Why not affiliate the online Bingo you play at now? On the homepage, look around the page for an affiliate or webmasters link.
5. If there's no affiliate or webmasters link, take a look at places like
Buy.at or
Tradedoubler.com - there are Bingo schemes there you can sign up for.
6: Sign up, and you'll have to give your website's URL - this information is available in the blogger site if you're not sure. It'll be something like
http://name-of-your-bingo-blog.blogspot.com
7: Once you've been approved, you can start adding your own affiliate links to your blog. This get's a bit complicated depending on how you do it and we'll go into at more detail in another thread - you may need to edit the template.
Failing that, you can usually add the code to your blog posts. The links work best when you build them into content - like "I was playing Bingo at [Your Link] and I had a great win."
8. Anyone who clicks on the link on your site and signs up and becomes a Bingo player will earn you affiliate payments. How much you earn depends on how much work you want to put into pushing your blog - you may just earn enough money to have a free Bingo game, or who knows, if you manage to sign up enough players, the skies the limit.
That's a very simplistic and easy first step into the realm of affiliate marketing. Most people don't realise they could very quickly jump into this world. Starting up a blog is a great first step that anyone can take for free.
In future articles I'll mention stuff like hosting your own sites, promoting them, gaining traffic for your sites, making it show up in search engines, etc. For now though, that might get you thinking...
If you start you're own blog (or other sort of site) then share a link here with us all, and we'll all see what we can do
