Last Saturday there was a wedding at our church that was supposed to end in time for our folk group's practice, but apparently things had gone a bit haywire, so the wedding was taking place more than an hour late. All the little kids kind of slipped their parents and had congregated by the front doors, that is, except for all the kids that were trying to climb into the baptismal font. One little guy was in the wheelchair that's kept by the front door and was getting ready to take off. Little girls were dancing with each other down the aisle. It's nice for kids to go to weddings and have fun, but someone's got to be watching them. Ah well, the bride's dress was beautiful. It had a long train and she had a boy and girl, each maybe six, who were supposed to carry the train. I don't think they quite understood what they were supposed to be doing because they kept kind of flapping the train up and down, and were perilously close to giving people a very interesting look at the bride.
