I spoke to my daughter earlier today, and she told me that she took her daughter and son (who is about 2 1/2)to the zoo. She told me that she got brave and didn't take the stroller along. She says her son walked nearly all the way for a couple of hours! She sounded almost giddy that she didn't have to fight with the stroller at all.
