Young Bingo playersOctober the 21st sees the start of a week of activities in the UK's Bingo clubs as Bingo For Breakthrough week gets into full swing. The many events aim to raise proceeds for the breast cancer charity Breakthrough. And speaking of bingo dabbers, starting from Monday the 21st of October, you'll have the chance to bid for one of a number of artworks created by a host of celebrities at the Bingo For Breakthrough Dab-A-Doodle Auction. Penny Lancaster, Esther Rantzen and Lorraine Kelly are amongst those who've created works of art using the chunky Bingo pens. If you'd like to help them raise funds, then feel free to bid for a *cough* masterpiece.

The official big event of Bingo For Breakthrough focuses on the week of the 21st - 28th of October, but a number of special events and tie in prizes have been appearing in the UK's Bingo clubs throughout October. There's been some other fund raising activities by Bingo staff such as Colin Chandler's 75 mile sponsored bike ride and there are many more special events planned for week. Many of these events of will see clubs and staff going pink for the cause. The Bingo Association and these special events have been responsible for raising over two and a quarter million pounds for the charity since 2004.
