Thursday, August 02, 2007News from Online Bingo that Cashcade - the company behind the fast growing Foxy and Get Minted Bingo have been expanding their portfolio. The company has bought up the Think Bingo network, consisting of Think Bingo, Think Bingo Plus and Bingo Scotland.
They've also purchased Herotech - the company responsible for Online Bingo and free Bingo site Bingo4Free. The cost for the two companies is £13.5m (I'm guessing that most of that was for the Think Bingo network.)Cashcade are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the online world. This move will bolster that position and bodes well for their future.
Personally, as big a brand that Foxy is these days, I still feel they've got a lot of room for improvements. For starters, they should dump their clunky Globalcom powered software and have a word with the wonderful people at Parlay. The Globalcom software continues to disregard things like common sense and ease of use, and it doesn't matter how hard you skin it, it always suffers from it's underlying weaknesses.
I'd also love to see them jump into the male Bingo market and do a site for blokes - the online market is still a place rife with female biased promotions, colour schemes and branding. Now that they have these new sites - maybe they can develop that side of things. Think Bingo has struck me as fairly neutral on these points, so maybe it would be ideal for a bit of a macho makeover.
It'll be interesting to see what they do at the Online Bingo portal as well. Personally I've always found the site suffered a lack of quality content, biased reviews and from not having a personal voice. Let's also hope they can improve the news section from the constant stream of National Game winners stories and actually have the courage to link out to some of the stories they cover at other News sites - it would be a vast improvement over the current offering. With the quality of Cashcade's Bingo knowledge and promotional skills, they could finally help the site live up to its self-appointed role as the 'leading online Bingo portal'.
