William Hill Bingo?

Interesting financial report from the Guardian that William Hill are considering bidding for The Rank Group after they sell off their Hard Rock Cafe part of the business. The Rank Group run the Mecca chain of Bingo halls, so it's perhaps fitting that one gaming business with a large high street presence should take over another one.

Personally, I'd like to see a UK business carry on the Mecca brand rather than see it sold to an overseas group. Now that mainstream UK gambling suppliers like Ladbrokes and Littlewoods have their own Bingo solutions, any purchase could help William Hill take it's first steps into what's expected to be one of the busiest areas of online gambling in 2007.
