You wouldn’t necessarily put Paul O’Grady and 32Red Bingo together but following a recent three year deal with ITV Brand Extension and the launch of an exclusive slot (I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here), 32Red have scored another hit. Their bingo brand is now the official sponsor of the Paul O’Grady show and is seen five times throughout the hour-long show.
Mark Quayle who is the marketing director for 32Red Bingo was said to be ‘really pleased’ about the deal because the demographic of viewers for the show were very similar to that of online bingo. The Paul O’Grady Show is back on our screens (albeit in a different format and different channel to previous) from 5pm every weeknight for 25 episodes.
Each show is an hour long and the 32Red Bingo idents will be shown just before the show, at the end of the show and on every ad break during the program. Plenty of advertising for this Microgaming brand!
We’ve had a look at the idents being used thanks to You Tube and have to say that we are pretty impressed. We love the tie-in between the shows format and the use of bingo calls. There are five idents in total and each feature a different bingo call but use the red velour sofa as the tie-in to the Paul O’Grady show.
The opener features two little ducks that pop out from behind the cushions of the sofa.
A pair of buckled shoes tap along the screen before jumping on to the sofa.
There are plenty of wolf whistles as a pair of legs in red high halls walk onto the stage, sit on the sofa and cross themselves.
Springs break through the fabric of the sofa, the leg collapses and the mike fall from the table for the number 13.
All of the above appear on the sofa for the last 32Red Bingo ident.
We love the concept and with celebrity gossip and chat as the format of the show, we are sure it is a great fit for the brand. Let us know what you think!
